Global K-pop sensation BTS is making headlines once again—this time for contributing to a tribute album for the late pop icon Michael Jackson. The group has reportedly recorded one of Jackson’s unreleased tracks, originally written in 2006, as part of a star-studded homage to the King of Pop.
BTS Records at Grouse Lodge Studio for Tribute Project
According to a report by The Irish Sun, BTS recently traveled to Grouse Lodge Studios in Ireland, where they recorded one of the unreleased songs from Michael Jackson’s archive. The song was penned nearly two decades ago in a converted cow shed at the very same studio. It was originally intended for Jackson’s next big album before his untimely death in 2009.
Paddy Dunning, the owner of Grouse Lodge, confirmed BTS’s involvement, stating, “The sessions started last year, and we have already had the Korean boy band BTS over with us in Grouse Lodge, recording one of the songs.” Dunning hinted at the scale of the project, revealing that around ten tracks, created in collaboration with industry legends like producer Rodney Jerkins and rapper Nephew, are being brought to life by today’s global superstars.
A Tribute Long in the Making
The unreleased songs were initially shelved following Jackson’s death, but with support from his collaborators, the project is finally being revived. The tribute album is expected to feature a roster of global artists, with BTS leading the charge.
